President’s message

Fellow farmers,

Responding to the requirements of the era, the Board of the Union of Agrinio has decided to provide an additional service not only to the members of the Cooperative but also to the entire rural population of the region.

A multi-thematic website where one can be informed for all the developments directly linked with the rural areas, can find news, reports and useful information for the users-farmers. Also, information on the Cooperative’s activities is always on the flow.

Steadily supporting the local farmer and his/her income, the Union of Agrinio has set forth the idea that, through comprehensive information on all issues concerning the producer’s activities, the website can serve as a forum where the farmer can express his/her own views on various subjects. Therefore, the website can be a practical, multi-functioning tool that will facilitate and upgrade farmers’ work.

Information, after all, has always been a key area of all our activities and services. Without exaggeration, as some of you already know, hundreds of farmers visit daily our offices to get information on specific deadlines, programs, supporting documents, and of course, cultivation methods, techniques, etc. It is needless to say that the Cooperative’s management and all its employees are there for them as our offices are always ready to welcome them. We are confident, however, that this website will as well prove very useful to them.

Besides, its creation was your request...

In this transitional period that we go through, we need to redefine our goals and objectives, to rectify our mistakes, to optimize our real potentials. We may need to rethink some things from the start and begin to create, to produce what we can. And we, the farmers, can do much!

The aim of this initiative is to shape a new form of interactive communication with you and to work together to turn the crisis into an opportunity for us all. Therefore today, all of our members, as well as the farmers in the wider region, have access to information regarding their work and future.

So, take a thorough look into the website, read carefully the topics elaborated, discuss them with your colleagues, take decisions and join the Union to talk about them in person.

If, as they say, the crisis can be seen as an opportunity, this opportunity belongs to you…
